Increasingly, Elders' mobility is challenged and a key resource enabling their continuing independence is mobility scooters. After many years of advocacy

DEG was granted funds to purchase its first mobility scooter that many Elders have benefitted from. Speaker Clem Dodd uses this scooter now to get around town. In 2023 we were able to purchase our second scooter to lend to the applicant the Elders Council decides needs it most. Virginia Robinson was pleased to receive the new scooter on loan, and has promised to keep it well maintained. This loan has enabled the Elders Transport Officer to offer his services to other Elders - bringing a win-win situation for us all!
