Since the DEG's River Ranger program began from April 2022, it has relied upon developing and nurturing key relationships. Two important relationships
are that developed with NSW Dept Planning and Environment scientist Eren Turak, and the rangers of travelling stock routes working with the North West Local Land Service.
Eren Turak customised an application the Ranger Team are finding highly useful in their identification of plants and animals in our region.
The relationship with the crown lands rangers working with the NWLLS provides the opportunity for DEG's Ranger Team to be providing on-the-ground advice to the NWLLS rangers who are based in Tamworth and cannot regularly visit the important water places on the Namoi River that are still held by the crown - and therefore accessible to Aboriginal people and the public in general.
