Dharriwaa Elders Group met with the Indigenous Unit of the NSW State Library to renew DEG's role as that institution's Walgett Aboriginal community interface,

in September 2014 to learn about Aboriginal language resources being found by a Library research project. Dharriwaa Elders Group has developed an strong ongoing relationship with Aboriginal archivist Kirsten Thorpe, who is pictured here with her colleague and DEG staff and community members. Dharriwaa Elders Group is the Walgett community interface for cultural institutions such as the State Library. One day this role will be resourced appropriately.
