DEG gathered Elders the day before, to prepare for giving evidence at the 17/2/16 Walgett hearing of the NSW Legislative Committee's Inquiry into Reparations for the Stolen Generations of NSW.
Hearing procedures were explained, and witnesses self-nominated.
The aim of the session was to assist witnesses to prepare - to understand the role of the Committee, to feel confident to speak about their family's experience, and to give positive suggestions for how the NSW Government could make reparations.
